Brasilito
For sheer variety of beautiful beaches, it's hard to beat the Gold Coast of Guanacaste. Brasilito is situated in the heart of the Gold Coast, which includes some of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica - like Playa Grande, Playa Conchal and Playa Flamingo.
This area offers the most sun and the least amount of rain, allowing more time to enjoy your favorite outdoor activities. There are almost a dozen beaches within a one hour drive, offering every water activity imaginable. Living in the Gold Coast means you can fish in the morning, golf in the afternoon and ride horse back at sunset.
These quiet beach towns offer most modern conveniences and are only an hour from the Liberia airport. Brasilito is also home of the Guanacaste Country Day School, a private American curriculum K-12 school.
The Gold Coast not only offers one of the best outdoor living environments, but is also poised for steady growth and land value appreciation, making it an ideal location to invest and live.
Jacó
A laidback bustling town, Jaco is one of the most popular Costa Rican beaches. Located in the North of the Puntarenas province along the country's central Pacific Coast less than 2 hours from San Jose, Jaco has the reputation of being a 'party beach' with an excellent nightlife. However, the fun here is casual and relaxed, and the people here are nice and friendly. Catering mostly to a huge number of foreign tourists who want to enjoy a more tranquil lifestyle, Jaco has a nice clean beach that is especially popular in the summer.
One of this town's major attractions is the fantastic surfing here as the waves are consistently big and the breaks are very good. A yearly international surf contest is also held in the nearby Playa Hermosa that attracts a huge number of surfers from all over the globe to this beach.
Nosara beach
Nosara beach community, Costa Rica's "hidden gem," is undoubtedly one of Guanacaste's best kept secrets. Tucked away from the beaten path of the tourist, Nosara has become home to expatriates from all over the world. Comprised of 3500 acres, 850 of which are dedicated national jungle preserve, this ecologically-minded community houses a grand array of outdoor activities year round; turtle-sighting, surfing, horseback-riding, deep sea fishing, hiking, and many more activities wait in this tropical escape. With more and more people seeking this alternative lifestyle, Nosara balances the every day conveniences of modern life while maintaining its sense of peace and serenity.
Playas del Coco
Playas del Coco is among the best known beaches in the country. Located near the Daniel Oduber International Airport, Liberia.
A very popular area for sport fishing, Playas del Coco is the largest village in Guanacaste province. Known primarily as the gateway for surfers to reach places like Ollie's Point and Witches Rock, where the waves are superb, this busy beach is also a prime scuba diving spot, with many tour and dive companies set up shop here.
Very popular among the locals, Playas del Coco has a well developed infrastructure, with good roads and plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, discos, casinos, hotels, resorts and markets.
Surrounded by steep cliffs and hills, the horseshoe shaped bay beach is the ideal place to relax and have fun. From Playas del Coco you can also head out to Pelonas Islands, Catalinas and Bat Islands, which are excellent sites to spot turtles, sharks and octopuses in their natural environment.
Playa Dominical
Costa Rica's Central Pacific coast is blossoming, led by Dominical's harmonious combination of pristine tropical forest, abundant sand beaches, diverse community and convenient infrastructure. Once a humble and isolated fishing village, its legendary waves transformed it into a surfing mecca and a thriving hub for active travelers and nature lovers. Now, it is equally renowned for its diverse wealth of activities, ranging from bird-watching, swimming and movie nights to ultralight flights, sport fishing and live community theater. Through infrastructure improvements and thoughtful management Dominical has matured into a hotspot for luxury real estate. Evenly paced and holistically minded, real estate in Dominical achieves an exemplary balance of nature and convenience.
Playa San Miguel
The most recent addition to Codwell Banker Costa Rica is Loring Costa Rica, operating in the beautiful uncrowded beaches in South of the Nicoya Peninsula. Though small, the town of Sámara has everything you could wish for - supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, stores, bars, nightlife, hotels, a bank, and an airport with daily 40 minute flights to San José. This friendly town boasts a variety of hotels, restaurants and bars with plenty of activities such as hiking, canopy tours and horseback riding. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of watersports such as diving, snorkelling, kayaking and sport fishing. The village has a well stocked supermarket, bakery, gas station, an internet cafe, DHL shipping store, beauty salon, taxi service to name but a few.
San José
Home to the country's political and economic center, San José has the greatest selection of amenities, which are steadily reaching out from the capital city. Historically, foreign residents have focused on the west side of San José, including the areas of Escazu, Santa Ana and Rohrmoser. This area has the highest concentration of Costa Rica real estate e.g. upscale condominiums and low-maintenance, high-rise apartments, as well as sprawling mountain-side luxury properties with exquisite views of the Central Valley. North-American-style shopping malls, hospitals, and international schools are well represented. Development on the greener east side, including San Ramón de Trés Ríos, has increased over the last few years. Prices are slightly lower than the west side, but infrastructure has significantly increased, including two major malls and a branch of the private CIMA hospital. Amenities also include a wide selection of restaurants in downtown San José, live theater and music, international arts festivals, spas, fitness gyms, golf courses and a number of community clubs and organizations that welcome foreign residents.
Tamarindo
Tamarindo Beach, located on the Guanacaste peninsula boasts the highest land-value along the Pacific coast and the greatest growth potential due to the rapid development of infrastructure, idyllic climate and gorgeous beaches. The multi-cultural exodus to this area has furnished a wide range of restaurants, cafes, bank services, supermarkets, art galleries, beauty salons, travel agencies, car rentals, real estate offices, shopping and markets.
